Emilio Arrieta
The street where Pensión Arrieta is located is dedicated to the memory of Pascual Emilio Arrieta, (Composer from Navarra, 1823-1894). His main legacy to the world of music was the composition of more than fifty zarzuelas, a kind of Spanish operetta. He strongly contributed to the revitalization of this genre in the Spanish 19th century, and had two distinguished pupils that later on also succeeded in the same genre: Tomás Bretón and Ruperto Chapí.
